There’s so no definitive decision to how the League One season will be completed after today's EFL meeting.

Last night, the Blues joined a six-strong League One group – with Peterborough, Sunderland, Oxford, Ipswich and Fleetwood – who publicly united in their belief the season should be completed in the usual manner.

However, League Two clubs – who met after their third-tier counterparts – have opted to conclude their campaign despite there still being nine fixtures remaining.

League positions will be decided on a weighted points-per-game method.

As a result, it will see Swindon crowned champions, with Crewe and Plymouth also automatically promoted to League One.

In addition, there will be two-legged play-offs semi-finals and a final contested between Cheltenham, Exeter, Colchester and Northampton, while Stevenage will be relagated.

BBC Sport’s Dan Road wrote on Twitter: ‘Hearing that League 2 clubs have agreed to cancel remainder of season, & settle final table via a weighted points-per-game system with 2-legged play-off semi-finals and then a final.

‘Clubs can’t afford Covid19 tests and for players to come off furlough. Needs ratifying by board.

‘So it seems the clubs held an indicative vote - and this is their position - but it still needs to be ratified and agreed by the EFL & the FA...’

If League One was decided by a weighted points-per-game method, Pompey would finish seventh and miss out on the play-offs.

Leaders Coventry and second-placed Rotherham would go up to the Championship automatically, leaving Oxford, Fleetwood, Peterborough and Wycombe to fight it out in the play-offs for the final spot.
