Clan of gerbils rescued from Gosport shed blaze
Firefighters rescued a clan of 22 gerbils from a shed in Gosport last night after a fire took hold.
Crews from Gosport Fire Station were called to a house in Captains Close just after 11.30pm to find a small fire in the shed.
A Hampshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said the fire was cleared using a hose reel and the poor animals were bought out to safety.
