SOLDIERS have pitched in to help a team of volunteers on a quest to build a new support hub for veterans.

Six soldiers from the Royal Engineers have been working alongside Forgotten Veterans UK to refurbish part of Fort Cumberland.

The historic Portsmouth landmark is going to be a base for the charity, which is looking to run regular retreats for veterans in need.
