Portsmouth City Council launches community inclusion grant scheme

Portsmouth’s community inclusion grant scheme is offering £1,000 for community groups who are based in the Portsmouth area.

Cllr Chris Attwell, cabinet member for communities and central services at Portsmouth City Council, said: ‘If you're planning a project that helps bring people together, helps improve people's access to something or just celebrates what makes your community unique.’

Portsmouth City Council has £30,000 to allocate to volunteering and community focused groups and these groups are able to bid up to £1,000 in support of their projects.

This grant plan of action is to ‘challenge inequality, advance equity and celebrate diversity in Portsmouth.’

Aiming to encourage a range of members by increasing accessibility and showing the uniqueness of a group or community.

The deadline for applications is October 30.
