Cat and 5 tiny kittens recovering with Cats Protection after being found in Fareham field
and live on Freeview channel 276
Cats Protection’s Gosport Town Branch is taking care of Izzy and her kittens – now named Sophie, Sammie, Scout, Scooter and Sebastian – who were discovered by a horse owner in the land off Newgate Lane, Fareham.
Thought to be just four weeks old, the kittens all needed treatment for flea and lice infestations but are now recovering with their mum while being cared for by volunteers at the branch.

Hide AdFundraising officer and fosterer Heather Wood said the feline family, who were taken in on September 22, are all doing well.
She said: ‘Izzy is an absolute sweetheart – a really friendly, lovely cat who has been an incredible mum to her kittens. She’s done so well caring for them, but with the colder weather coming, I dread to think what may have happened to her and the kittens had they not been discovered.
‘Life as a stray cat would have been hard enough, but to raise five kittens has clearly been a strain for Izzy. When we took her in she was very hungry, as no doubt all her energy has been going into the kittens.’
Izzy is thought to be about three years old and is very friendly, so she must have been a pet at some point in her life. Once the kittens are old enough, she will be neutered and rehomed.

The branch has started a fundraising appeal for anyone who would like to contribute to Izzy and kittens’ care at bit.ly/IzzyAndKittens
Heather said: ‘As a volunteer-run branch we fundraise to cover all expenses ourselves and the charity as a whole receives no government funding, so we are asking anyone who has anything spare to please help us out.
‘With six extra mouths to feed, not to mention the veterinary costs involved, we're stretching our resources to the limit.’
