POLICE are appealing for witnesses following the assault of an 18-year-old woman as she walked home.

The teenager was assaulted by a man at 7.10am this morning (December 14) as she walked along Ham Lane in Gosport. The woman sustained injuries but they are not considered life-threatening.

Police have released a description of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

He is said to be white, of slim build, aged between 20 and 25-years-old and around 5ft 4 inches tall.

The man was described as having curly dark brown hair and a pale complexion. Distinctive features include very hairy arms and hands along with cuts to his mouth and chin.

The man was said to be wearing dark grey baggy tracksuit bottoms, a blue ripped t-shirt and trainers with white bottoms.
