An RSPCA re-homing centre near Chichester is looking for specialist volunteers following a revamp.

Mount Noddy, based in Eartham, takes in hundreds of unwanted and abandoned cats, dogs and rabbits every year and finds them new homes.

It is about to start a new chapter, as its kennels and catteries have been repaired and repainted and a state-of-the-art barn has been installed with comfortable sofas where prospective owners can get to know the animals in a simulated domestic environment.

There are longer opening hours and new fundraising initiatives planned.

Centre manager Clare Palmer is appealing for volunteers to serve on a new executive committee.

She is looking for people with skills in finance, animal welfare and fundraising, but most importantly they must love animals and see their rescue and re-homing as a real vocation.

Ms Palmer said: ‘We have always found Chichester people to be very giving and generous and I am sure they will get behind us again.’

For anyone interested please contact Mount Noddy by emailing [email protected] or by phoning 01243 773 359.
