The house in Segensworth Road is on a quarter acre plot and is guided freehold at £170,000-plus.

It has four bedrooms.

Rob Marchant, Clive Emson’s Hampshire auctioneer and a member of Portsmouth Property Association explained: ‘The house is not considered habitable because it is in a poor state of repair. A prospective purchaser may wish to save the property, which is on an attractive plot. Alternatively, subject to planning consents, the site may be suitable for redevelopment.’

Among the other 135 lots up for auction is a gravel pit copse next to a golf course in Titchfield Lane, Wickham, guided freehold at £40,000-plus.

Rob said: ‘We anticipate keen interest from bidders who wish to own a slice of wooded Hampshire – the site has been largely left to nature in more recent times and you may find a few lost golf balls.’
